The Zoological Garden of Brasilia was inaugurated in 1957, before even the capital of Brazil

It results from the combination of three parks managed by the Zoological Garden Foundation of Brasília , linked to the State Department of Urban Development and Environment (SEDUMA) and the Government of the Federal District .

It has a total area of 690 hectares , of which 440 hectares are related to the Wildlife Sanctuary of Riacho Fundo, 110 referring to the Bird Park and 140 of the own garden.
